        Bio
        Peter Bürger is professor emeritus of French and comparative literature at the University of Bremen. He is the author of Theorie der Avantgarde (Theory of the Avant-Garde), Das Altern der Moderne (The Decline of Modernism) and The Institutions of Art (co-written with Christa Bürger). In 2007 he published Sartre. Eine Philosophie des Als-Ob.
